Young Riders School - a place where a love of horses brings people together and creates opportunities to achieve big goals together.

Young Riders School - a modern equestrian centre

Our story

The Young Riders School is one of the leading equestrian centres in the Baltics and started operating in 2007. The sports centre was developed under the guidance of internationally recognised equestrian experts – Peter Van Santvoort and two-time Olympic champion Piet Raijmakers.

Since 2019 the sports centre has held the status of a National Sports Base. Its infrastructure provides suitable conditions both for daily training all year round and for hosting national and international competitions.

The base has two high-quality outdoor arenas and two indoor arenas, allowing full training regardless of season and weather. Horses are housed in three stables, with paddocks for turnout.

The spacious, well-equipped grounds are suited not only to equestrian sport – visitors and families can enjoy walks and leisure, and there are facilities for corporate and other events.

Coaches

Krista Daukšte

Horses have been part of her whole life. Several years of work in Germany at top-class sport stables with sport horses gave her resilience and a deep love for the job. Every horse and every student is special, and finding the best way for them to work together matters most. Her students compete successfully in show jumping in Latvia and abroad, while her own discipline is dressage. She holds a category C sports specialist certificate and keeps developing her knowledge through seminars and online courses to keep up with the latest trends.

Guna Lazda

Coach at the Young Riders School with a category C sports specialist certificate. She has been involved with horses and riding since childhood, training at various stables. She specialises in teaching children and beginners the basics of show jumping and dressage and successfully prepares students for competitions. She believes success is built on respectful cooperation between horse and rider and good communication between student, coach and parents.
